mokuleia

Mokulei'a Bay Beach

This beach is close to mile marker 32 on Highway 30. It is part of the Mokuleia Marine Life Conservation District (please do not disturb the wildlife). There isn’t a sign that says Mokuleia Bay so look for a sturdy metal fence and at the far end of the railing there are concrete steps that lead down to the cove. Once you reach the bottom it opens up to a beautiful cove. Parking is limited so get there early!

Popular Activities: Snorkeling, surfing, boogie boarding

Kama'ole I, II and III Beaches

These beaches are great for people of all ages as each beach offers something different. The plus is they all have bathrooms and outdoor showers. Lifeguards are there during the day and you will typically see a turtle or two, while out in the water. There's tons of room to throw a football or frizbee, or to find a place to stretch after a run.

Kam II: Volleyball nets
Kam III: Large grassy lawn to barbecue, picnic or have a small gathering

Wailea Beach

One of the more popular beaches in south Maui as the waves and surf are friendly. The snorkel areas are good, there are also tide pools to check out and like many places on this side of Maui, the photo op for sunset is second to none. The shops at wailea are behind the beach so it's not a far walk if you want to grab some lunch or go to the grocery store for snacks and drinks.

Popular Activities: Swimming, snorkeling, stand-up paddling

Hamoa Beach

If you are going to do the road to Hana, drive straight here without stopping and spend a glorious couple hours. Then drive back making stops along the way. Hamoa beach is far enough away from the tourist crowd to make this feel like you are on your own private island. The water is warm and perfect for swimming or bobbing in the waves. It is surrounded by trees and interesting rock formations, so just sitting on the beach staring at the blue waters will make all your blahs go away.
